Langhorne Slim
Langhorne Slim
Kemado Records

24-year old urban cowboy Langhorne Slim returns for a third bout of delirious orchestral folk rock and sheeee-itt if you can’t keep a good boy down. This is a long record but one stacked to the hilt with great, ebullient, big-hearted songs that just keep coming like a dusty freight train, with barely enough time for a piss-stop before those rusty wheels are a rattling once again. Vague whiffs of Arcade Fire and Dylan pass by in the wind but good old Langhorne doesn’t ever sound like anyone but himself; a free spirit lending his smoky wisdom on how to live, how to love and when to leave, with an indomitable belief that he’s fighting the good fight. With his heart on a chequered sleeve and fuck the rest cause he’ll be gone by morning time. Warm, cheering and bountiful of simple pleasures.

Download: Spinning Compass, Hello Sunshine, Oh Honey

For those who like: Bob Dylan, Devotchka, Arcade Fire
